wHERE WE BEGAN

Worthy Well Empowered LLC was born from a desire to empower others to a greater sense of calm and peace in the midst of daily stressors.  As school social workers, Sarah Vining and Marta Roberts noticed the daily stressors impacting our coworkers, students, and families that we worked with in a whole new way as we all navigated our new normal amidst the global pandemic.  We discovered the Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® through the Trauma Resource Institute.  This model, created by Elaine Miller-Karas, focuses on each person's ability to strengthen and widen their resilient zones with the use of six simple wellness skills.  These skills are based in biology and can be used across cultures, across literacy levels, and across the lifespan.  CRM has become the foundation for WORTHY WE, offering practical skills for each member of our community.  For more about the Community Resiliency Model®  and the Trauma Resource Institute, visit www.traumaresourceinstitute.com

WORTHY WE was also inspired from the work of Brené  Brown, researcher of vulnerability and wholehearted living.  Decades of research led Brené  Brown to understand the basic human need of love and belonging.  In her book The Gifts of Imperfection Brené writes, "No matter what gets done and how much is left undone, I am enough.  It's going to bed at night thinking, yes, I am imperfect and vulnerable and sometimes afraid, but that doesn't change the truth that I am also brave and WORTHY OF LOVE AND BELONGING."  At WORTHY WE, this principal of worthiness is embedded into every action, decision, and interaction.  For more information on Brené Brown's work, visit www.brenebrown.com
